West Yellowstone, Montana
West Yellowstone is an hour and a forty minute drive from Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport and is the closest town to Yellowstone National Park and the closest entrance to Old Faithful. If you want to combine a Yellowstone Park visit with a fishing trip staying here is a great option. West Yellowstone offers a long list of fun family activities to keep everyone busy, including the Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center, IMAX Theater, easy to difficult hiking trails and weekend rodeo’s just to name a few.
West Yellowstone can keep the whole family well entertained if you are splitting up for the day. The town can be flooded with tourist traffic entering the park in the morning and exiting later in the afternoon, usually this won’t effect a fishing trip, a busy little town for it’s size in the summer months, by fall the town becomes a lot quieter and the dining choices are great all summer, but things will start shutting down for the season in the late fall.
