Big Sky is a little under an hour drive from Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport, a year round resort town, with the most extravagant lodging and dining selections. The Gallatin River flows minutes away. Big Sky offers great opportunities for multi-activity vacations, it’s not unusual to do a bit of snow skiing and fishing all in one trip when staying in Big Sky. The resort town experience can be extremely exhilarating and with fishing, mountain biking, hiking and even whitewater rafting, it can support the whole family year round with endless outdoor activities.
Big Sky is a great choice for the whole family, the Gallatin river does become muddy in spring and will on occasion become un-fishable in the early portion of the season. From Big Sky the Yellowstone River and Upper and Lower Madison River are all great options with an average drive time of an hour and 1/2 to the water.
